Bandage Care Sheet

Your pet has just had a procedure where a bandage. splint, or cast was applied. It is very important that you follow the instructions below.

  • Check the bandage daily to make sure it has not shifted.
  • Check to make sure your pet is not licking or chewing at the bandage.
  • Make sure the bandage does not get wet or dirty. Covering this with a plastic bag works great for walks and potty breaks. Please ask us for tips on keeping bandage dry and clean.
  • Check the bandage daily for any odors that are "off" or a "bad" smell. Call the office if anything is noticed (772) 344-8800
  • If the bandage is on a leg please check daily for swelling above or below the bandage.
  • Check bandage for redness in the areas around the bandage.
  • Check bandage for redness in the areas around the bandage.
  • If anything does not look right to you PLEASE call the clinic at (772) 344-8800

You MUST bring your pet in every three days for a bandage check. This is imperative for the pets recovery.

There will be no charge for this service as long as no other services are required. (i.e. bandage change, injections, x-rays, etc.)

The safe and successful recovery of your pet is partially your responsibility so follow the instructions fully.
