Our Medical observation unit is designed to keep hospital patients clean and comfortable. When staying more than 24hours all patients receive a therapeutic bath including a nail trim and ear cleaning. A television is installed to be seen from every hospital bed in the room. Special movies are played that keep both the dogs and cats occupied. Some have hidden dog whistles and others have mice that dart across the screen. At night the lights are dimmed and either a movie will be played on loop or soothing music is played. It is the mission of our Pet Care Technicians to make sure your pet has the best experience a hospital setting can create. It is important to us the you pet does not feel alone and are exposed to the least amount of stress possible.
All pets are given fresh water daily and fed according to instruction given by their owner or advised by the Veterinarian. Patients who are not on a specific prescription diet are fed Purina EN for sensitive stomachs. This reduces the possibility of stress diarrhea and keeps the belly comfortable for any medications your pet may be receiving while here in the hospital.
We also cater to special needs such as elevated food and water dishes for arthritic and post operative patients. Rubber mats for the floor to get better traction and grates for the patient unable to stand or walk while here.
All hospital beds are cleaned and sanitized every morning and as needed for the individual patient. Patients are walked every few hours and also enjoy play time or cuddle time according to their nurses instructions.
