Office Manager Amanda Gilleo comes from a long line of animal lovers.  Born and raised in South Florida, she was active in girl scouts, 4-H and FFA affording her a wide variety of pets including Patch, a one eyed cat, a guinea pig named Chrissy, chickens, rabbits and Lucky the Beagle.  She also helped her mother raise and show tropical and exotic fish.
At age 14 she started volunteering her time with animal organizations such as Best Friends of America and the local pet shelters, deciding at this young age to pursue a career in the animal field. At 19 she went to work at The Animal Emergency And Referral Center in Ft. Pierce, Fl spending 3 years working under Board Certified Doctors that specialized in Internal Medicine, orthopedics, surgery, dermatology, cardiology and emergency care.  She assisted in diagnosis, triage, emergency care and surgery.  She has also worked for veterinarians in general practice before accepting a promoted position of Head Tech, accumulating over 9 years of experience.  She has studied dog training under the guidance of a local Veterinarian, and has 2 years grooming experience.
Amanda is the founder of The Dog Scout Troop of the Treasure Coast, and a certified Science Diet Nutritional Advocate.  She is certified in K-9 massage therapy, specializing in post op and stress reduction.  She carries certification in K-9 and Feline CPR and 1st Aid.  She is extremely active in animal rescue and fostering.
Along with husband Wayne, Amanda owns and operates her own pet sitting and behavioral training business, working with many prominent families and local celebrities such as Burt Reynolds.
Amanda is the proud mother of Cody, a 8 year old Yorkshire Terrier, 6 year old Leyna, American Boxer and Hannah, a 4 year old Boston Terrier, adopted from HSSLC. This past year Amanda has added two new additions to her family. A rescued Sulcata tortoise effectionatly called "Jeffrey" and a baby Flemish Giant Rabbit named "Big Ben".
Pursing her interest in K-9 and feline Psychology, Amanda has striven for her dream job - managing an animal hospital - leading her to Dr. Fox and The Animal Hospital of West Port St. Lucie.

She has been working with the team since August 2008.
