Your pet has just had a dental cleaning and polishing or dental procedure. To ensure the safe and speedy recovery please follow the instructions below.

*We recommend giving only small amounts of water at a time. If your pet holds down the water, then give ½ of his/her normal meal. Please moisten the food for tonight. If vomiting occurs at any time, this is NOT an emergency. Take away any food and water and let them lick ice cubes. Then call Dr. Fox in the morning. (772) 344-8800

*Care MUST be taken the night of surgery to ensure that your pet does not hurt itself. They may still be groggy and can fall down steps or off furniture.

*If your pet does vomit and it appears to have blood in it, DON’T ALARM! It is from swallowing blood during the dental cleaning or extraction.

*We recommend that you start a dental regimen of cleaning and or using CET dental chews one week after the procedure. Follow the directions on the package. Your pet will need fewer cleanings and their mouths will be fresher.

*Antibiotics- give as directed if needed

*Pain medication- give as directed if needed
