Your pet has just had a surgical procedure. To ensure the safe and speedy recovery please follow the instructions below.

Restrict activity for ten days following the procedure. Leash walk only for dogs to allow them to urinate and defecate then back inside confined to a small room or crate.

DO NOT bathe your pet for at least 2 weeks after the procedure.

Sutures         A: will not need to be removed

                        B: will need to be removed in ______ days.

Please check the incision site daily. If swelling, bleeding, or excessive redness occurs please call the hospital

(772) 344-8800. Also if your pet becomes increasingly lethargic, weak, or vomits excessively please call us.

We recommend giving only small amounts of water at a time. If your pet holds down the water, then give ½ of his/her normal meal. If vomiting occurs at any time, this is NOT an emergency. Take away any food and water and let them lick ice cubes and call the Dr. in the morning.

Care MUST be taken the night of the surgery to ensure that your pet does NOT hurt itself. They may be groggy and can fall down steps or off the bed.
