Never underestimate the power of a medicated bath. If done properly, this can be a very important and progressive approach to treating skin conditions. Please follow the instructions below to ensure the maximum results possible.
-
Start By completely soaking your pet with warm water
-
Use solution of 25% shampoo and 75% water. The shampoo is highly concentrated and this mixture will give you the best results.
-
Beginning at the top of the head and work your way down to the tail lathering the pet fully. Do not forget arm pits and inside the back legs.
-
Usinging a rubber sponge, rub the pet down making sure the shampoo makes full contact with the skin. Scrub well.
-
Allow to remain in your pet for at least ten minutes. The longer the better. This is a good time to trim the nails.
-
Rinse pet completelt. Starting at the top of the head and work your way down to the tail. Do not forget to get under the arm pits and between the back legs. By rubbing the pets coat in the opposite direction you can be sure all the soap is off.
-
Repeat above process if needed. If the skin is fairly inflames or if this is the first prescription bath you may want to repeat the lathering process.
-
Towel dry your pet and allow to finish air drying. This is the best time to clean out the ears. We want to make sure all the water is out of the ear to prevent an ear infection.
-
Repeat twice weekly. Follow up with once a week for maintenance.
-
Please call ahead to refill your prescription shampoo.
